Excellent vintage, pre-owned, but unused, condition.
This piece is part of the extensive Halloween collection of Philadelphia artist Peter Paone. In his travels over four decades, he acquired decorations, toys and costumes dating from as early as 1920. The objects, mainly of lithographed tin and paper, depict all manner of Halloween imagery - black cats, jack-o-lanterns, witches and devils, to name a few. The collection includes a vast array of items from tin noisemakers and paper party hats to paper pulp lanterns and monster boots made of wax. Many of the pieces have been featured in "Things That Creak in the Night", a yearly exhibition of Paone's collection at Philadelphia's Woodmere Art Museum.
