Notes Signed in pencil. Suzanne Valadon was a self-taught artist, first working as a model for many renowned artists. She appears in works by Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Morisot. Primarily in oil and sometimes pastel, her work included still lifes, portraits and landscapes. She is, however, best known for her depictions of female nudes. Her son was the painter Maurice Utrillo.
